Each shell is rotary
cut from a single log and matched for its color and tone before put
into full drum sets. The shells of toms and snares are 5.1 mm strong
and the bass drums feature 7.2 mm shells. The Deep Forest instruments
are hand rubbed with a wax finish. The Mapex Deep Forest walnut kit
is the first all walnut instrument for almost a century. Sets come
with a 14x5.5" snare drum, a 22x18" bass drum, 10x8", 12x9",14x11"
and 16x13" rack toms including hardware. Additional components are
available. |

Mapex M series drums
feature a 7-ply interior basswood + 1 ply exterior maple 8.1mm drum
shell. The interior basswood shell is a hardwood that has been used
extensively in the manufacture of musical instruments drum to its
inherent tonal properties and relative affordability. Basswood is
similar to birch in both its appearance and timbre; accentuated high
and low frequencies with slightly reduced midrange response. However,
bass wood features an additional boost in the lower midrange areas,
commonly associated with mahogany. The harmonic result is a tightly
grained, full-bodied yet relatively lightweight material that blends
perfectly with other hardwoods providing enhanced depth, attack and
projection. |

drummings state-of-the-art. Orion Classic has hand-crafted, ultra-thin,
I.T.S. mounted North American Maple shells w/ 2.3mm power hoops, recording
size bass drums, Black Panther snare drum, and 950 Performing Artist
Series hardware. These features are all combined for the characteristic
warmth, presence, projection and tuning range required by the most

Mapex Pro M drums
have been created to fill the need for professional high quality instruments
at a mid-range price point. The 9-ply, 8.1mm Maple/Basswood/Maple
shells provide a warmth and clarity; complemented by Mapex’s advanced
Transparent Lacquer, Benchmark and Ice finishes. Drum resonance is
assured with I.T.S. (Isolation Tom System), Non-penetrating bass drum
double tom holder and the Mapex exclusive spring-loaded floor tom
legs. The Pro M drum sets are accompanied with 550 series hardware
and 750 series bass drum pedal and hi-hats. In addition to a wide
range of drumset configurations, the Pro M series includes a wide
range of available component pieces, the Pro M, as with all Mapex
shells have an exclusive limited-lifetime warranty. |
